Gore brilliantly explains the stakes at Copenhagen.
I’m not sure that Saran Palin understands. She had this to say about global warming in a Washington Post editorial.
I know that Carbon Dioxide is a great gift from God, also a gift that brings warmth to us during the long Alaskan winter, and by burning natural gas and oil, we are honoring Him, sending a blessed and holy plume of smoke skyward to our great Father in heaven, imploring him to watch over Americans, and our troops, and also to bring us energy security, also to the great state of Alaska, and the first Dude and my beautiful family. And then as the glorious sun sets over the Last Frontier in shades of red, white and blue, I know with every ounce of my being that Russia, silent in the distance, will never understand the joy that I feel right now, a joy of freedom.

That has to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I would never believe that it was real without the link, it sounds like an SNL parody. Burning gas as a burnt offering to God? Six out of ten for meshing the Old Testament with modern realities but minus several hundred for the image of flooding heaven with tailpipe fumes and calling it Good.
Just bizarre.
Adrian… Sorry, I did it again.
She didn’t actually say this, and since she has a ghost writer for everything, I decided to put a few words in her mouth.
But it’s easy to imagine her making these exact same arguments. She’s that misinformed.

I can see that I’m going to have to double-check everything I see here. Man, I’m one gullible sack!
You know what they say, fool me three or more times, shame on me.
I read that and I thought, “No way….this has to be a spoof”. I checked the link and of course she didn’t say this. Still, there is some real thick-headness in that post. She hasn’t even read the emails. I doubt she’s even read the quote-mined versions herself…it sounds like she’s just reiterating what she hears on the airwaves, or what someone whispers in her ear. There’s no need to spoof when her real statements are about as out of touch with reality and science as any spoof.
Stumbled accross your site today looking for some information. Quite the propaganda machine you have going here!
As you probably already know by now, Palin will be joining the Fox news team. She’ll be in good company with Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Glen Beck, which I guess is where she belongs.
Walter Mead;
“The global warming movement as we have known it is dead. Its health had been in steady decline during the last year as the once robust hopes for a strong and legally binding treaty to be agreed upon at the Copenhagen Summit faded away. By the time that summit opened, campaigners were reduced to hoping for a ‘politically binding’ agreement to be agreed that would set the stage for the rapid adoption of the legally binding treaty. After the failure of the summit to agree to even that much, the movement went into a rapid decline.”
Sarah Palin 1 Al Gore zip.
Not statisfied with your normal ad hominem attacks and name calling, you resort to pure fabrication. Man does that advance your already pathetically weak argument!
How about this for Gore’s brilliance: 12 November 2009, the Tonight Show. Gore describes the earth’s mantle as “several million degrees” at “2 kilometers down or so.” And “the crust of the earth is hot too.”
Some basic facts:
Temperature of the sun’s corona: 1-2 million kelvin
Temperature of the sun’s photosphere: 6,000 kelvin
Temperature of the earth’s mantle: 773 - 1173 kelvin
Ok, maybe kelvin isn’t the right scale.
Let’s try °C: nope 500 - 900°C.
°F? Nope: 932 - 1652 °F. Yup! Gore is absolutely BRILLIANT!
NOT!
But then, this is the state of your alarmist drivel that is so utterly falsified and a total fraud. Which is why you, Gore and Monbiot and others of your ilk rely so heavily on ad hominem and name-calling.
Awww, welcome back, John. Always a pleasure.
