Richard Levangie & Kristina Robinson
We’ve always been environmentalists, but after reading Heat by George Monbiot last year, we realized that global warming is the most serious problem that our society has ever faced. More serious than the Cold War, potentially more deadly than World War II.
Then, as luck would have it, we found work in the environmental publishing industry, and that means that we read hundreds of climate change and clean tech stories every week, and that’s provided us with a deep and frightening understanding of the issue, and a strong sense of purpose. Most people don’t know how perilous our place in history.
We’re running out of time.
One Blue Marble — our web site and this blog — is our attempt to focus attention on climate change, and we won’t be taking any prisoners.
The most important thing you can do to slow global warming is to get involved. No one can sit on the sidelines; we need to engage everyone in society, beginning with our politicians.
In fact, this campaign was inspired by President-elect Barack Obama’s call to ordinary Americans to become the change we wish to see in the world. We’re thrilled about Obama’s rise to the White House, and want to do everything we can to support the whirlwind of change that will be needed for the US to become a leader in the fight to slow global warming.
Truth to tell, we both have been profoundly saddened by Canada’s slow, dishonorable slide off the international stage. We are now one of two or three developed nations standing in the way of a comprehensive agreement to combat climate change. At the climate summit in Bali last December, the Canadian and American delegations were booed! We did the same thing in Poznan, Poland this year, and are now rated as the 191st worst climate change villain in the world, ahead of just one nation — Saudi Arabia, our new ally.

Thank you for informing me of your site. I know it will be successful. I will be watching and learning as you encourage us to action. Thank you for giving us hope that we can make a difference. You are right, we can’t sit on the sidelines on this one. God Speed.
Climate Change is NOT a spectator sport!
I also found Monbiot’s “Heat” first rate and admire your blog similarly.
Richard,
I am a fellow contributing writer and associate editor at TriplePundit, and the publisher of a blog called “Global Warming is Real.”
I’ve enjoyed your posts at 3P and wanted to inquire to see if you had any time or interest on an occasional post for GWIR. Please let me know if you’d like to pursue it further and we can take it from there.
Keep up the good work.

Tzeporah…
I’d be happy to… Will zerocarboncanada return the favor?
Good luck in Copenhagen… and thanks for the great work.
Yes absolutely. Should have done so before. I’ve added the link to zerocarboncanada.
And thanks for all your great work too — excellent gritty yet inspiring quote today.
